Amid the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant disaster in Ukraine, India has called for “mutual restraint” so as not to “jeopardize the safety and security of nuclear products and enterprises.” The nuclear plant is among the 10 largest nuclear power plants in the field hiatus and is in the interim period under Russian administration.
At a meeting of the United States Security Council (UNSC) on Ukraine, the Indian ambassador to the UN, Ruchira Kamboj, expressed “reviewing experiences of bombings near the spent gasoline storage facility of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant ” and highlighted that New Delhi “attaches too much importance to ensuring the protection and safety of these products and services, since any accident caused by nuclear products and services could have serious consequences for public health and the environment”.

The United States and the International Atomic Energy Company (IAEA) nuclear watchdog enjoy concerns expressed about the study in and around the nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine. The current IAEA director, Rafael Mariano Grossi, has called for both the Russian and Ukrainian aspects to allow scores to deny.
