NEW DELHI: India prepares to build Apple’s flagship iPhone 14 smartphones with the company confirming that the devices would be made in India at contract manufacturer Foxconn’s factory in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
This would be perhaps the fastest expansion Apple has initiated of its manufacturing setup in India with the latest iPhone being made here within weeks of its global unveiling on September 7.
When contacted, the company confirmed the development. “The new iPhone 14 lineup features innovative technologies and important security capabilities. We are excited to manufacture the device in India,” Apple told TOI in a statement.
