JAMMU: In order to review the overall security situation before the upcoming 75th Independence Day celebrations, Kathua SSP rosemary c Kotwal chaired an interstate coordination and security review meeting in Kathua on Tuesday.
SSP Pathankot (Punjab), SDPO Dalhousie (HP), representatives of the central security agencies and supervisory officials were present at the meeting. Kotwal called for joint patrolling and anti-tunneling exercises along the international border, as well as monitoring drone activities in the border area. He also called on participants to strengthen the interstate border security network.
Representatives of the Army and other central security agencies were also asked to delegate their manpower for joint patrolling and anti-tunneling exercises throughout the IB.
The SSP urged officers to intensify surveillance and security in the district to control any infiltration attempts, drone launches and movement of anti-national elements. Officers from all agencies were also advised to have coordination at the SDPO/SHO level, share information on interstate drug dealers, bovine smugglers, historians, notorious elements, and enhance patrolling of interstate borders. Kotwal also asked participants to design joint nakas and conduct vehicle checks originating from border areas.
