NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the Union cabinet’s decision on India’s logistics policy will accelerate growth and increase the country’s share of world trade.
Efforts in the logistics sector will particularly benefit the country’s farmers and the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector, mode he said in a tweet.
“Today’s Cabinet decision on an ILP scheme related to the National The program on high-efficiency solar PV modules will improve manufacturing in the sector and boost investment,” the prime minister said in another tweet.
The cabinet earlier approved the National Logistics Policywhose objective is to reduce the cost of transportation and improve the overall performance of the sector.
Modi unveiled the policy last week, which seeks to cut transport costs by promoting seamless movement of goods across the country.
The cabinet also approved amendments to the semiconductor scheme and display manufacturing ecosystem with uniform tax support of 50 percent of the project cost for all technology nodes under the ambitious program.
