NEW DELHI: Only one vice-chancellor in all central universities in the country is from the SC community, one from the ST community, while seven are from the OBC community, according to data shared by the education ministry with the Lok Sabha on Monday. The data also revealed that two registrars at central universities belong to the SC community, five to the ST community, and three to the OBC community.
Minister of Education shared data from 45 central universities Subhas Sarkar in Lok Sabha. According to data, up to April 1, of 12,373 professors from 45 central universities, 1,306 belong to the SC community, 568 to ST, 1,740 to OBC and 8,386 are of general category.
